[GUIDE] How to go to the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City, Philippines

Located along the stretch of IBP Road off Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, the Batasang Pambansa Complex is a sprawling government-owned property where members of the House of Representatives hold office.

It is where legislative measures and national laws, including the annual appropriation law, are created, filed, deliberated upon, and enacted by District Representatives hailing from all over the country.


The place is also where congressional hearings on national issues are conducted in aid of legislation. More prominently, it is where the seating president of the country speaks before the entire nation in his/her annual State of the Nation Address.

The Batasang Pambansa Complex covers several hectares, and is home to several buildings. There are different entry points, too, but this guide will focus on how to reach North Gate where service vehicles and public transportation vehicles pass by. It is also where walk-in guests pass by for security check.

From any point in Metro Manila, the easiest (but not exactly the cheapest) way to go to Batasang Pambansa Complex is by booking a Grab ride or hailing a taxi cab.

Alternatively, you can try the following ways on how to commute to the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City:

From the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX):

  • Past the Bocaue Interchange, wait until you reach North EDSA. Get off at SM North.
  • Proceed to the SM North transportation terminal and ride a jeepney or FX bound for SM Fairview.
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan.
  • From here, you have two options: First, proceed to the tricyle terminal at IBP Road corner Commonwealth Avenue and take a tricyle bound for Batasan. Get off at North Gate.
  • From Sandiganbayan, you may also walk to IBP Road and ride a jeepney bound for San Mateo. Get off at the South Gate of Batasan. From here, North Gate is a three-minute walk away.


 From the Quezon Memorial Circle:

  • Proceed to Jollibee Philcoa and take a bus bound for SM Fairview.
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan.
  • From here, you have two options: First, proceed to the tricyle terminal at IBP Road corner Commonwealth Avenue and take a tricyle bound for Batasan. Get off at North Gate.
  • From Sandiganbayan, you may also walk to IBP Road and ride a jeepney bound for San Mateo. Get off at the South Gate of Batasan. From here, North Gate is a three-minute walk away.


From EDSA:

  • Go to the north-bound lane of EDSA and proceed to any loading/unloading shed.
  • Take a city bus bound for SM Fairview.
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan.
  • From here, you have two options: First, proceed to the tricyle terminal at IBP Road corner Commonwealth Avenue and take a tricyle bound for Batasan. Get off at North Gate.
  • From Sandiganbayan, you may also walk to IBP Road and ride a jeepney bound for San Mateo. Get off at the South Gate of Batasan. From here, North Gate is a three-minute walk away.


From Fairview:

  • Take a bus or jeepney or FX or UV Express bound for Quiapo or Quezon City Hall.
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan and cross Commonwealth via the elevated pedestrian bridge.
  • From here, you have two options: First, proceed to the tricyle terminal at IBP Road corner Commonwealth Avenue and take a tricyle bound for Batasan. Get off at North Gate.
  • From Sandiganbayan, you may also walk to IBP Road and ride a jeepney bound for San Mateo. Get off at the South Gate of Batasan. From here, North Gate is a three-minute walk away.


From Makati:

  • Take a city bus bound for SM Fairview.
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan.
  • From here, you have two options: First, proceed to the tricyle terminal at IBP Road corner Commonwealth Avenue and take a tricyle bound for Batasan. Get off at North Gate.
  • From Sandiganbayan, you may also walk to IBP Road and ride a jeepney bound for San Mateo. Get off at the South Gate of Batasan. From here, North Gate is a three-minute walk away.

or
  • Take the north-bound MRT. Get off at either Quezon Avenue Station or North Avenue Station.
  • If you decide to get off at the Quezon Avenue Station, proceed to the Eton Centris transportation terminal. 
  • Take a UV Express or jeepney bound for SM Fairview.
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan. 
  • From here, you have two options: First, proceed to the tricyle terminal at IBP Road corner Commonwealth Avenue and take a tricyle bound for Batasan. Get off at North Gate.
  • From Sandiganbayan, you may also walk to IBP Road and ride a jeepney bound for San Mateo. Get off at the South Gate of Batasan. From here, North Gate is a three-minute walk away.  

or

  • If you take the MRT and decide to get off at North Avenue Station, walk inside TriNoMa and exit to SM North. Proceed to the SM North transportation terminal.
  • Take a jeepney or FX bound for SM Fairview.
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan. 
  • From here, you have two options: First, proceed to the tricyle terminal at IBP Road corner Commonwealth Avenue and take a tricyle bound for Batasan. Get off at North Gate.
  • From Sandiganbayan, you may also walk to IBP Road and ride a jeepney bound for San Mateo. Get off at the South Gate of Batasan. From here, North Gate is a three-minute walk away.  


From Alabang:

  • Proceed to Starmall Alabang and take a bus bound for SM Fairview. 
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan and cross Commonwealth via the elevated pedestrian bridge.
  • From here, you have two options: First, proceed to the tricyle terminal at IBP Road corner Commonwealth Avenue and take a tricyle bound for Batasan. Get off at North Gate.
  • From Sandiganbayan, you may also walk to IBP Road and ride a jeepney bound for San Mateo. Get off at the South Gate of Batasan. From here, North Gate is a three-minute walk away.  

or

  • From Starmall Alabang, take a bus bound for SM Fairview and get off at MRT Ayala Avenue.
  • Take the north-bound MRT and get off at either Quezon Avenue Station or North Avenue Station. 
  • If you decide to get off at the Quezon Avenue Station, proceed to the Eton Centris transportation terminal. 
  • Take a UV Express or jeepney bound for SM Fairview.
  • Get off at Sandiganbayan.
