How to go to the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) in Manila | Commuting Guide

Tracing its roots as far back as 1887 during the Spanish colonial period, the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) tries to remain relevant in this day and age where information is easily retrievable on the Internet.

On weekdays, the NLP is full of high school and college students from nearby schools and universities. They flock to the National Library to check the more than one million materials in the library's inventory to see if there's anything they can use for their research papers, projects, or thesis.

The National Library also attracts people who would just want a quiet place to stay and read.

Over the years, the National Library has seen major renovations. The facility used to be dark and decrepit. But now, it has improved, although a lot still needs to be done to make it truly world-class.
